Oceanbrae Farms in Belmont, PEI is planning to host the CMSS Field Day this year on Saturday, July 19th.
As PEI is a very busy tourist destination, we wanted to give lots of notice for breeders that are interested in travelling to PEI to make travel plans.
To get to PEI, there are:
- 3 direct flights per day in the summer to and from Toronto with Air Canada
- Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun flights between Toronto Pearson and Charlottetown with Porter
- Porter also has two flights per day between Ottawa and Charlottetown in the summer
- Air Canada has two flights per day between Montreal and Charlottetown.
- Moncton, NB airport is less than two hours from the farm if flight times/prices are better and you want to rent a car.
Travel times by car are approximately 11.5 hours from Montreal, 13 hours from Ottawa and 18 hours from Toronto.
As for hotels, there are already a lot of places fully booked so far. I’m not sure what else is happening that weekend but most hotels in the Summerside area are fully booked. However, I have made reservations at a local inn with very good online reviews. If you are planning to come, you will need to contact the office to update reservations with your name. You will then pay with your credit card upon check-in.

For those planning to fly to PEI and wanting a rental car, please book well in advance as rental cars are sometimes scarce in the summer. The main car rental firms are available at Charlottetown airport, as is PEI Car Rentals (https://peicarrental.ca/
If you are interested in coming to the Field Day but would like more information about travel, things to do in PEI, or anything else, please let the office know.
The family is still firming up plans for the event, and we will communicate those to you well in advance.
We hope that we’ll see lots of Canadian Milking Shorthorn breeders at the Field Day this July!
