Koopycrest P Per Ali Ariel VG-85 has set a new breed record for lifetime milk production upon completing her eighth lactation. Ariel has now produced 101,936 kgs of milk, along with 4177 kgs of fat (4.1%) and 3257 kgs of protein (3.2%) with average BCAs of 411-418-398. Ariel is bred and owned by Shawn Koopmans of Koopy Crest, Picton, Ontario, and she recently calved for the ninth time in early 2025.
Born in 2014, Ariel is sired by the Swedish Red sire Pell-Pers, accorded status in the CMSS herdbook. Her dam, Koopycrest Mocha Ali Apple ET EX-90, was the result of imported embryos from the United States. Apple was a stand-out cow in her own right, being a multiple time Class Leader and Superior Production Award winner and Star Brood Cow, as well as currently holding the breed record for most milk produced in 305 days (16,742 kgs).
Ariel is a seven-time Class Leader and seven-time Superior Production Award winner, as well as placing third in the Three-Year-Old class at the 2017 National Show. Her daughter, Koopycrest Royalty Ali Ashlyn VG-85, is also a two-time Class Leader and Superior Production Award Winner.
According to Shawn Koopmans, “Ariel has been a great cow to work with. Her combination of high production and longevity make her special.”
Congratulations to the Koopmans family for their success with Ariel and her award-winning cow family. What started with one embryo purchase has developed into a large and productive cow family that dominates CMSS production awards each year.
