Junior Calves (born after March 1st, 2025):

1.  Kolson Laser Leading Lady (Top Shelf Royal Laser) – Stephen & Janet Edwards, Cobden, ON
2.  Prinsville Solomon Star (Cotonhall Solomon) – Prinsville Dairy Farms, Bloomfield, ON
3.  Koopycrest Inspired Addison-P (Krauses Tanbark Inspired-PP) – Shawn Koopmans, Picton, ON (4-H member Madelyn Koopmans)
4.  Kolson Insp Literary Poet-P (Krauses Tanbark Inspired-PP) – Stephen & Janet Edwards, Cobden, ON
5.  Kolson Laser Lizzo-P (Top Shelf Royal Laser) – Stephen & Janet Edwards, Cobden, ON
6.  Bovidae Tribute Alice (Ovensdale Jennys Tribute) – Bovidae Farms, Falmouth, NS (4-H member Brantley Pemberton)

Reasons:  A terrific calf to win the class, as she displays that beautiful combination of dairyness and strength with tremendous depth and openness to her rib. She uses her overall style and spring to her rib to place her over the heifer in second. Second and third is a closer placing. The heifer in second you have to admire for her correctness and balance all the way through; as such, she has the advantage over the heifer in third on how she tracks on her rear legs. The heifer in third is another balanced individual that has beautiful length to her frame and she has the advantage on the strength and width to her front end over a very dairy heifer in fourth. I admire the style and side profile of the heifer in fourth, and I give her the advantage over the heifer in fifth on the correctness of her topline, particularly behind the shoulders.

Senior Calves (born between Sept 1, 2024 and Feb 28th, 2025):

1.  Oceanbrae Star Betty 31st (Kuszmar Mercury Stargazer) – Ashlynne Marr, Evandale, NB (4-H member)
2.  Richford Icon Maeve (Richford Icon) – Sheldon Richardson, St. Mary’s, ON (4-H member Samantha Lambert)
3.  Richford St Clare Helga (Lynmark St Clare) – Sheldon Richardson, St. Mary’s, ON
4.  Oceanbrae Beacon France (Oceanbrae Beacon-P) – Alice Duey, Falmouth, NS (4-H member)
5.  Kolson Solomon Shaniece ET (Cotonhall Solomon) – Holly Keuhl, Pembroke, ON (4-H member)
6.  Oceanbrae Star Betty 32 (Kuszmar Mercury Stargazer) – Oceanbrae Farms, Belmont, PE
7.  Claudor Taylor (Rovin Bolaro EXP) – Kim Boulet, Ste-Sabine-de-Bellechasse, QC
8.  Ashtonia St Clare Chimichanga (Lynmark St Clare) – Rob Ashton, Port Perry, ON

Reasons:  With two excellent heifers coming to the top quite handily, I give the first heifer the distinct advantage in the strength of her loin, particularly when on the move. However, I take nothing away from the heifer in second, another very balanced individual that has plenty strength and power throughout. She uses the mass through her front end, including being wider through her chest and midsection and showing more spring to her rib over the heifer in third. For third over fourth, I prefer the thurl placement on the heifer in third as well as being more stylish over the tail head region. For fourth over fifth, I give the fourth place heifer the advantage on the hardness on top, more strength to her loin and walking on a nicer set of rear feet and legs.

Yearlings (born between Sept 1, 2023 and Aug 31, 2024):

1.  Oceanbrae Bessie Joe 75 (Kuszmar Mercury Stargazer) – Oceanbrae Farms, Belmont, PEI
2.  Ashtonia St Clare Carnita (Lynmark St Clare) – Rob Ashton, Port Perry, ON
3.  Oceanbrae Tribute Genesis ET (Ovensdale Jennys Tribute) – Wynsum Meadows, Newington, ON

Reasons: I’ve started the class with a heifer that has excellent length to her frame and who has the advantage in her size, scale and length throughout over the heifer in second. The heifer in second you have to admire her for cleanliness and bone quality, where she has the advantage on her dairyness, being cleaner right down through her hock. I also prefer her rump structure, being more level from hips to pins over the heifer in third.

Junior Champion:
Oceanbrae Star Betty 31st
Res. Junior Champion –
Richford Icon Maeve
HM Junior Champion –
Kolson Laser Leading Lady

Junior Champion:  Oceanbrae Star Betty 31st – Ashlynne Marr, Evandale, NB
Reserve Junior Champion:  Richford Icon Maeve – Sheldon Richardson, St. Mary’s, ON
Hon. Mention Junior Champion:  Kolson Laser Leading Lady – Stephen & Janet Edwards, Cobden, ON

Reasons:  These two calves came to the top of their respective class quite handily, a pair of tremendous heifers that show the ideal combination of dairyness and strength. As mentioned in their class, I give the Junior Champion the advantage on the correctness of her loin and hardness on top, particularly when on the move. For Reserve Champion over Hon. Mention heifer, my choice rests just purely on the mass to her front end. She’s a heifer that displays more width, power and spring and openness to her rib from the front view. This takes nothing away from the lovely Hon. Mention heifer, a calf that had beautiful depth to her fore and rear rib and walks on a great set of feet and legs

First Lactation Cows:

1. Oceanbrae Brewer Monica (Oceanbrae Brewer) – Oceanbrae Farms, Belmont, PE

Reasons:  Only one in the class but a tremendous first calver that displays great quality to her mammary system through the veination and texture of the fore and rear udder.

Second and Third Lactation Cows:

1.  Oceanbrae Bentley Misty (Oceanbrae Royal Bentley) – Oceanbrae Farms, Belmont, PE
2.  Oceanbrae Foster Lilibet (Oceanbrae Foster) – Oceanbrae Farms, Belmont, PE

Reasons:  We have a beautiful dairy cow to win the class that displays dairy quality throughout with her sharpness over her chine and angularity. She has the advantage on the snugness of her rear udder attachment and being cleaner over the hips then the cow in second. I do admire the capacity and width through the front end of the cow in second.

Mature Cows:

1.  Richford Pingerly Valentine (Treeton Pingerly) – Oceanbrae Farms, Belmont, PE
2.  Emadale Logic Fajita (GMC Rebel Logic) – Sheldon Richardson, St. Marys, ON

Reasons:  Only two mature cows in the class, but I’ve given the first place cow the advantage on her rump structure being more level from hip to pins while also showing more depth and capacity to her fore and rear rib over the cow in second.

Grand Champion:
Oceanbrae Bentley Misty
Res. Grand Champion –
Richford Pingerly Valentine
HM Grand Champion –
Oceanbrae Foster Lilibet

Grand Champion:  Oceanbrae Bentley Misty – Oceanbrae Farms, Belmont, PE
Reserve Grand Champion:  Richford Pingerly Valentine – Oceanbrae Farms, Belmont, PE
Hon. Mention Grand Champion:  Oceanbrae Foster Lilibet – Oceanbrae Farms, Belmont, PE

Reasons:  For Grand Champion, I have gone with the roan cow, as she is in the best form here today showing tremendous dairyness all the way throughout with a well attached mammary system. She has the advantage over the mature cow on the attachments of her udder, where I prefer the way the fore udder blends on into the body wall. For Reserve Grand champion over Hon. Mention, it’s on bone quality, displaying a little more cleanliness throughout, particularly over the hips and pins. Taking nothing away from the Hon. Mention, you have to admire her for her capacity throughout and depth of fore and rear rib.
