In my top pair, I placed first over second because the first-place heifer is more capacious and is wider throughout. She is wider through the chest floor, deeper in her rib, and stronger through her barrel. The first-place heifer also has a more correct rump structure, showing a more desirable slope from hooks to pins with greater width at the thurls and pins. I grant that the second-place heifer is more stylish and shows more femininity through her head and neck.
The second-place heifer uses her feminine style and dairy quality to place over the heifer in third. She is cleaner and more refined in her bone, longer and leaner through the neck, and shows more sweep and openness of rib. I grant that the third-place heifer is a growthier heifer with more stature and frame, and she is longer from end to end. I commend her length and power, but the heifers above her carry the advantage in cleanliness and style.

The first-place heifer is a handy winner in this quality class of heifers. She is a more feminine heifer with style and balance that blends more smoothly from end to end, is harder and stronger over her top, and has a more correct angle from hooks to pins. She also shows higher-quality, more refined bone and is surprisingly wide throughout for a heifer of her style. I grant that the second-place heifer has the advantage in dairy strength and size, being taller and more powerful through the front end.
The heifer in second uses her size, power, and dairy strength to place over the heifer in third. She is a larger-framed heifer that is stronger through the chest, with more spring and depth of rib. I grant that the third-place heifer has a more correct rump structure, with a more desirable slope from hooks to pins. She is a well-structured heifer but the heifers above her carry advantages in style and overall dairy character.

A very stylish pair rises to the top of this class. The first place heifer is deeper through her fore rib and blends more smoothly from her shoulder into her body wall. She also shows a more correct rump angle on the move. I concede that the heifer in second is longer from end to end and stands taller at the withers.
The heifer in second uses her overall style and cleanliness to place over a powerful heifer in third. She is a cleaner, more refined heifer that is more stylish from end to end. I grant that the red heifer has loads of capacity, wider through the chest floor and deeper through her barrel, but the heifers above her carry the advantage in style and cleanliness today.

My Junior Champion combines overall correctness, style, and balance and fits my ideal today. She is feminine and refined in her bone and hard over her top. She is especially strong in her rump structure, with a correct angle from hooks to pins.
My Reserve has beautiful cut to her front end and is deep through her fore rib, blending smoothly from her shoulder into her body wall, and shows a correct rump angle on the move.
Honorable Mention goes to a long, tall, stylish heifer with exceptional cleanliness from end to end which is what pushes her above the rest of exceptional entries.

The first place cow is a more capacious cow, wider through the front end and deeper in her body. She also has a more desirable mammary system. Her rear udder is wider, and her fore udder blends more smoothly into the body wall. She also shows more veining and more bloom throughout her mammary. I grant that the second-place entry is a cleaner, more refined cow with more dairy quality from end to end.

In a close placing, the red cow in first edges out the roan cows in second with her overall capacity and mammary system. My first place cow is wider, showing extreme dairy strength, being wider in the chest and more open in her rib. Her mammary is tightly attached, with a slight advantage in width of rear udder and a more level udder floor. I grant that the second place cow is tremendously stylish, more feminine through her head and neck, with a slightly longer, smoother fore udder attachment.
The tremendous mammary system and overall style carry the roan cow over the cow in third. She has a longer, smoother fore udder and carries her udder higher above the hocks. I commend the third place cow as a long, milky, clean-cut cow, but the cows above her carry the advantage in youthfulness of mammary today.

This is a very close placing in a class of beautiful aged cows. Both cows show tremendous dairy quality, being clean and open-ribbed, and both have strong mammary systems with excellent bloom and veining. The red cow in first edges out the roan cow in second with more capacity, being deeper ribbed, and she blends more smoothly through her shoulder. She also has a higher, snugger rear udder attachment and a more ideal set to her rear legs when viewed from the side, and she moves more freely on them. I grant that the roan is a longer cow from end to end, showing more bloom in her mammary and more desirable teat size and shape.

These three cows all have exceptional mammary systems. They are in differing stages of lactation, but dairy quality and strength show across the entire group.
Grand Champion has tremendous dairy strength, being wide and strong through the chest and deep through her body. She backs that strength with quality, showing great openness of rib and a clean, flat bone. Her udder is tightly attached, with a wide rear udder and a level udder floor. She also walks on the most correct set of feet and legs in the group and moves with ease and confidence.
My Reserve Grand Champion has a phenomenal mammary system with the height, width, and strength of attachment I love to see in a young cow. Her fore udder blends smoothly into her body wall, and her udder shows great bloom and veining. She is also a capacious cow, wide through her front end and deep in her body. I grant that this Two Year Old has a remarkable udder for her age, but the Grand Champion carries the advantage in dairy strength, openness of rib, and mobility today.
Honorable Mention goes to a stylish, balanced cow that is feminine through her head and neck and blends smoothly from end to end. She has a youthful mammary system with a long, smooth fore udder carried high above her hocks. While she has the most style of the three, but the Two Year Old places over her with more height and width of rear udder and a stronger attachment.

The calf handily wins this class with her style and balance. Although she is the youngest heifer in the class, she shows the most dairy quality. She is clean throughout, deep ribbed, square in her rump, and strong over her top. Her overall quality and correctness place her over the older, larger heifers.
The heifers in 2nd and 3rd are a very similar pair, but 2nd places over 3rd as she is deeper in her rib and barrel and has a more correct set to her rear legs. I do note that the heifer in 3rd is slightly wider through her chest.
